From the Treetops of a Bad Neighborhood

brittle limbs exhibit diving board-ricochet.

Into the sun's white-hot flicker, residents leap.

Circumstance is burned down to dust.

From the Treetops of a Bad Neighborhood

brittle limbs become petrified exhibits.

Into the sun's white-hot lure, residents leap.

Bones disintegrate.  Faces melt away.

From the Treetops of a Bad Neighborhood

residents stand

erect as the last house left

after a natural disaster.  Briefly invincible.

From the Treetops of a Bad Neighborhood

residents sit

in the white rock rubble of abandoned lives

and homes. Descending.
